I am embarking on the denture journey starting Monday, with first appointment to have the x-rays and fitting for temp denture.  I'll have to have 6 teeth extracted (the only ones remaining) on top, prior to fitting for complete upper plate.  Meanwhile, I've have a "flipper" for one tooth up top, for 6 years:  I have tried Fixodent, and another product before it.  Fixodent is head and shoulders above the other one:  I put it on in the morning, and flipper plate stays put all day (and there are no teeth now remaining where it used to attach....so the Fixodent is the only thing holding it in place for the past few months!).

   I'm a little anxious about where this denture trip will take me, and the adjustments, and the "pain" during recovery & adjustment....but I am also the owner of a Scalar Wave Laser..... and I have every hope it will first, optimally prepare my body for the procedures; and secondly, accelerate the gum healing time after extractions..... based upon my experiences with my Laser so far in other areas.  I'll make additional posts as I go thru this....er...."adventure".... one of the unwelcome mountains that many of us have to climb in Life: much more fun to wake up and move thru the day with your OWN teeth intact!!!. But alas..... 

I am 68, and very grateful that my teeth have been so perfect and cavity free for over 50 years...... until bone loss caused my teeth to start falling out one by one over the past 6 or so years.   It's been a VERY difficult idea for me to accept ~ having a whole plate of teeth GONE and wearing a denture (vanity, thy name is woman!)....especially during social interaction with special men friends.... but I finally decided to throw a switch in my mind (which is where the real power is anyway which drives our personal engines), and now am approaching the whole life-change situation with anticipation, and at least SEMI-enthusiastically looking forward to what creative problem-solving solutions I can come up with, to accommodate to the changes with grace and humor.  Plus, the security of having my "Laser gizmo" really encourages me regarding how I'll move thru this all:  I know it'll reduce or eliminate the pain, and accelerate healing.
